ESSE began back in 1854 with a simple mission: to create the cleanest-burning, highest quality stoves and range cookers. ESSEs have been relied upon in some of the world’s most demanding environments – from the kitchens of the Savoy, to Scottish bothys and royal residences, and they’re still built here in the UK.
ESSE has been at the forefront of heating and cooking innovation in Britain since 1854. Today, ESSE heating and cooking products remain some of the cleanest-burning and most efficient appliances available.

Available in two models, ESSE 175 F with classic feet or ESSE 175 B with stylish solid base, the ESSE 175’s clean contemporary design is in keeping with a range of interior design styles – from rustic rural cottages with inglenooks to minimalist free-standing installations.
ESSE 175 offers controllable clean burning design with energy-efficiency. Through Particulate ReburnTM Technology it delivers a significantly cleaner burn than Ecodesign requirements. A catalytic combustion filter, minimises emissions resulting in improved efficiency and reduced fuel consumption. With Precision BurnTM ESSE 175 offers precise air control to give excellent control over the fire.

775 Eco 6 – 11 kw
6-11kW heat output range (9.6kW nominal); efficiency 76%
Available in two models, ESSE 775 F with classic feet or ESSE 775 B with solid valance, the ESSE 775 is clean in use and clean in design working in a cottage inglenook and as minimalist free-standing installation.
With an output tested between 6 and 11kW ESSE 775 is an Ecodesign stove designed for larger living room. A single ‘long travel’ precision control regulates the air supply and burn rate.

As with every ESSE 775 is built in Lancashire from UK steel and cast iron.
500 Eco – 5kw

A slightly smaller version of our massively popular 100 Stove, this handsome log-burner features ESSE’s instantly recognisable signature door arch styling – combining traditional looks with advanced technology and performance.
With its reassuringly solid cast iron construction, the 500 is every inch an ESSE; a warm heart and focal point for your home, embodying everything we’ve learned in over 160 years as stove-makers.
It’s available as either a top or rear flue model, and can also be specified with a 220mm tall log store.

Traditional look but modern super clean catalytic performance. With the visual presence of a larger stove ESSE 105 has the depth to sit neatly on a shallow hearth.

ESSE 705 is traditional in look but with a modern Ecodesign performance. ESSE 705 is the larger ESSE with a heat output range between 6kW and 11kW for the larger living room.

550 Eco – 5kw

ESSE’s stove range has a stylish new addition – the tall, dark and handsome 550. Based on the proven and super-efficient ESSE 500, the new arrival features cleaner lines, new longer legs and an oversize clear glass window offering an enticing view of the natural flames dancing within.
The unfussy new door design plus longer stove legs – inspired by the iconic ESSE Ironheart cook stove – combine to create a minimalist look that’s bang on trend for an urban industrial chic feel.
Ideal as the focal point of a modern open-plan living space, study or the centrepiece of a cosy lounge, the 550 has an energy rating of ‘A’, and ESSE’s trade-marked clean burn technology enables it to be fired in smoke exempt zones throughout the UK.
The 550 is economical to run and incorporates both primary and secondary air wash controls for precision adjustment of the burn rate and the ability to create some beautiful flame patterns.

If we say ourselves, this stove is a stunning piece of contemporary design – combining the timelessly comforting appeal of a traditional British-built wood-burner with stripped down, minimalist, almost Scandinavian styling.
With its “cubist” flame-box view, and highly distinctive cylindrical pillar design, this really is an exceptionally eye-catching stove, even for an ESSE. And you can choose whether you prefer the pillared legs in black, to match the stove body, or in contrasting stainless steel.
In terms of performance, its footprint and energy-efficient 5kW heat output make it ideally suited to almost any living room – whether rustic or urban, as it’s approved for use in smoke control areas.
To make it as easy to use as it is on the eye, our 525 model features primary and secondary air control sliders, as well as a twin position riddling grate with both wood and mineral fuel settings.
It can be installed with either a top or rear flue.

We think everyone should have a chance to own a beautiful ESSE wood-burning stove, and the ESSE 1 is designed to make that possible. It’s affordably priced, but far from basic: a high quality hand-built ESSE stove with clean-burning performance to match its classic looks.
As you would expect from ESSE, we haven’t cut corners in creating a more affordable stove. Elegant and easy to use, the ESSE 1 features a simple handle with no riddling grate, yet still offers you all the burn rate control of one our top-of-the-range stoves.
As for heating performance, we guarantee you won’t be disappointed:
the ESSE 1 will make easy work of keeping your living space cosily warm in a clean and environmentally responsible manner.
And here’s fuel for thought. If you’re not sure about burning wood, or using it exclusively, the ESSE 1 can also be supplied as a multifuel model capable of burning either wood or mineral fuel.
